The Viceministry of Exports and Investment Promotion (PROECUADOR) and Latin American Chamber of Commerce (SG) strengthen ties with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. 

The Viceministry of Exports and Investment Promotion (PROECUADOR) and the Latin American Chamber of Commerce, marked a significant milestone on January 31, 2024, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration and foster economic ties between Ecuador and Singapore.

The signing ceremony was held virtually and attended by key dignitaries, including Mr José Antonio Villena, Vice-minister of Promotion of Exports and Investment from Ecuador. In his address, the Vice-minister emphasized the vast opportunities that exist between Singapore and Ecuador, underlining Ecuador's commitment to establishing stronger links with academia and gaining insights into Singapore's innovation journey. Additionally, he highlighted Ecuador's robust food production capacity, offering a valuable resource for Singapore.

Angela Torres, Founder and Director of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration and outlined the areas of focus for future programs and knowledge sharing. The MOU, she explained, comes at an opportune time, coinciding with the expansion of LatAmCham's presence through the appointment of Mr. Fausto Valle as Country Manager of Ecuador.

Mr. Fausto Valle's role will be pivotal in facilitating effective communication and collaboration between Ecuador and Singapore, ensuring the successful implementation of joint initiatives outlined in the MOU. His expertise and local insights will play a crucial role in bridging the gap and fostering a deeper understanding of the respective markets.

The collaborative efforts between the Viceministy of Exports and Investment Promotion and the Latin American Chamber of Commerce will concentrate on developing programs and sharing knowledge in key areas such as the green economy, digital economy, and smart cities. This strategic alignment reflects both parties' commitment to advancing sustainable and innovative practices in these crucial sectors.

The signing of the MOU signifies a strong commitment to fostering economic development, trade, and cultural exchange between Ecuador and Singapore.
